Urban furniture, plain answers.
Who's the typical buyer?
Local councils, parks & recreation departments, body corporates and strata managers, shopping-centre asset managers, hotels & resorts, tourist precinct operators, university campus facility teams, and contractors fitting out public-realm landscape projects. Orders are usually for installation across a defined precinct rather than ad-hoc one-piece purchases.
What's the typical order size?
A typical precinct order is AUD 15,000–80,000 landed (e.g. a council park refresh: 20–40 benches, 12 bins, 8 planters). Large municipal contracts and resort fitouts can run AUD 150,000+.
For under ~AUD 5k the per-unit price still works but the landed-cost math doesn't beat AU distributor pricing once you factor freight + customs.
How weather-resistant is the powder-coated steel + timber construction?
LVEN's standard build:
• Frame: hot-dip galvanized steel or stainless steel, then powder-coated to RAL or AU equivalent colour codes. Rated for full outdoor exposure.
• Timber slats: Bintangor, Jatoba, or PS plastic-wood (recycled-plastic composite). The PS plastic-wood is the lowest-maintenance option — no splintering, no annual oiling, doesn't fade significantly in AU UV.
• Hardware: stainless or galvanized fasteners, tamper-resistant heads on the public-realm models.
Expected service life under AU coastal conditions: 10–15 years with annual cleaning, longer for inland installations. Marine-coastal sites within 500m of surf should specify the marine-grade aluminium frame option.
AS/NZS compliance for public realm?
LVEN supplies AS/NZS-compliant documentation on request for the standard public-realm range. The relevant standards depend on the application:
• AS 4685 series for any play / kid-accessible items
• AS/NZS 1170 structural loading for anchored benches and shelters
• AS/NZS 4671 for steel reinforcement
• Disability access compliance (DDA) for armrest spacing on accessible benches
Flag the application on your RFQ and Sun Top will confirm which docs are available before order. For council tenders you'll typically need the certs in the bid pack — request them at quote stage so we can include them with the quote.
What's the lead time?
Standard in-catalogue items (benches, bins, planters): 6–8 weeks ex-factory + 4 weeks ocean + 1–2 weeks AU customs / last mile = 11–14 weeks door-to-door.
Custom colours / RAL match / branded etching / dedication plaques: add 2–3 weeks at the front.
Tender-spec projects requiring AS/NZS certification documentation: add 1–2 weeks for paperwork upfront — no impact on physical lead time.
Council and government buyers should add buffer beyond the indicative window — see How It Works → Honest delivery timelines.
Installation — do you install?
No — Sun Top is import / trading. Door-to-door means delivery to the council depot, contractor yard, or installation site. Installation is by your appointed landscape contractor or council works team.
Standard fixings (ground anchors, bolts) are supplied with the furniture. Concrete pad / paver-mount instructions provided. Most council parks teams install in-house.
Council procurement — do you respond to formal tenders?
Yes. Sun Top has supplied to several AU council projects on a sub-supplier basis. We can provide:
• Itemised pricing in tender-bid format
• AS/NZS compliance documentation
• Factory verification evidence (ChAFTA Cert. of Origin, business-licence checks, 8-step protocol on partners.html)
• Indicative delivery schedules with milestone dates
• Insurance and warranty terms (typically 2-year warranty on frames, 1-year on timber finishes)
For formal tender response, email [email protected] with the RFT pack and we'll come back within 2 business days.
